First timer?
I know not everyone has experience hiring designers or artists, so I thought it might be helpful to outline the process!
Send me an email with the details of your project. General description and deadline is a good place to start! I’ll likely ask some follow-up questions. For businesses, I’ll definitely want to know how you intend to use it (t-shirt? product label? email campaign? all of those?) and for how long (a single event? 5 years? forever-ever?).
I’ll send over a quote. (If the quote exceeds your budget, there are often ways to scale back the project and still meet your needs!)
Then, I’ll send over a contract or letter of agreement, outlining all the stuff we agreed on in step 1 and 2, as well as some legal and process/timeline info. Once this is signed (including deposit payment, if any) I’ll begin work!
Typically there will be a few points where you give feedback throughout the project. This will be specific to your project and will be written out in in the contract, but to give you a common example: I send 3 concept sketches, you choose one and give any feedback/direction. I send a revised/more finished sketch, you approve/give feedback, and then I create the finished work.
